Fins players play host to teenagers from HANDY and Camillus House.

Members of the Miami Dolphins brought holiday cheer to 30 teenagers from HANDY and Camillus House at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Plantation. Students received a $300 gift card courtesy of Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Dolphins and Jeff Peck. Students shopped with a current player, cheerleader and Miami Dolphins Women’s Organization (MDWO) representative. Additionally, Duffy’s Sports Grill provided food for the teens at the event.

“It definitely was a great day and a blessing to come out here and interact with all of these children,” said wide receiver Marlon Moore. “The student that I was with was able to get tennis shoes and shorts and hopefully this day will give him the opportunity to have a great holiday season and beyond.”

Current players Chas Alecxih, Reggie Bush, Dan Carpenter, Tyrone Culver, John Denney, Brandon Fields, Brian Hartline, Reshad Jones, Richard Marshall, Jeron Mastrud, Andrew McDonald, Marlon Moore, Mike Pouncey, Kheeston Randall, Sean Smith, Austin Spitler and Brian Tyms took part in today’s event.

“This event was a great experience. This hit home for me because you definitely can’t take things for granted,” said defensive back Sean Smith. “With the holidays coming on, I appreciate what the Dolphins and Dick’s Sporting Goods are doing and being able to help out today was extremely fulfilling.”

Additionally, Bush donated his All-Community Team tickets for the students for this weekend’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

“The Miami Dolphins organization look forward to giving back to our community year round especially during the holidays,” said Ilona Wolpin, Sr. Director of Community Relations. “We were excited to host teenagers from HANDY and Camillus House at Dick’s Sporting Goods to make it a special holiday.”

“We at DICK’S Sporting Goods were proud to partner with the Miami Dolphins in order to provide local deserving youth the opportunity to shop for some great new items this winter season,” added Kimberly Freedman, Community Marketing Manager – South Florida for Dick’s Sporting Goods. “The chance to go shopping with professional athletes is something these kids will always remember and we were excited to host this experience and see their reactions to walking through the store with members of the Dolphins.”
